Philosophy Mission Statment
As a universal language, music speaks to all of us, and the greater our understanding of what we hear and experience as listeners and performers, the greater our emotional connection to it will be. It is my goal to help students develop their potential as musicians and teach them the musical concepts necessary to justify their opinions about their musical experiences, as well as to nurture a love for music that will carry throughout their lives.

I like it! Music as a universal language is controversial, as it doesn't actually convey the same meanings to everyone. But it is such a traditional viewpoint, that most people accept it. The English language doesn't always convey the same meaning to everyone who hears it either!!
